Lake Tahoe is unusual in that its waters flow out throught the Truckee River inland down through Reno and to Pyramid Lake. Pyramid Lake is the largest reminant of the massive Lahonatan sea which once covered the state of Nevada. This is very unusual as most rivers tend to flow towards the ocean and Lahonatan was an inland sea.
